![]() Tons of branching paths, each of which have branching paths, and many don't even lead to anything of consequence outside of enemy encounters and maybe a weapon or two. Inferno, on the other hand, is just a mess. ![]() Level design is logical and fun, without many dead ends. There's backtracking, sure, but it's rarely annoying or troublesome. Knee Deep in the Dead and The Shores of Hell, the first two chapters of the game, have fantastic level design. ![]() One thing that's always bugged me, though, is just how inconsistent the game's third and originally final chapter, Inferno, is. It's my favorite FPS, and I return to it anytime I need a pallet cleanser style game. I've been playing Doom ever since I stumbled across the shareware that had been left by my cousin on a computer he gave us.
